Air Traffic Control

A scheduling and health score analyzing app

Project Overview

ATC (Air Traffic Control) is a medical-practice scheduler designed to give clinics a clear, day-level view of patient appointments while integrating clinical data for faster, more accurate planning. Built within Elevance Health’s ecosystem, ATC addressed workflow friction caused by fragmented scheduling tools and inconsistent data integration.

Through interviews with clinic schedulers, competitive analysis, and integration scoping with engineering, I found that existing scheduling solutions were inconsistent, costly, and lacked proper data connectivity. ATC’s design introduced a unified “Day View” for real-time scheduling context, a “Data Pane” that surfaced key patient information such as notes and visit history, and a “Patient Selection” module to support care objectives directly within the workflow.

The prototype demonstrated measurable improvements in visibility and decision-making, influencing Elevance’s visual direction and ecosystem standards. Testers reported greater clarity and efficiency in managing their schedules, and stakeholders recognized ATC’s potential for reducing costs and onboarding time. The project ultimately validated a feasible, integrated scheduler that could scale across practices and informed the roadmap for future integrations and pilots.
