Ingenio Prior Authentication

Project Overview

Prior Auth is a strategic UX initiative to reimagine a legacy insurance authentication process into a modern, adaptable SaaS platform. This project addressed a critical dual challenge: empowering insurance agents with a streamlined, intuitive tool while providing administrators with unprecedented control over their workflows and compliance rules.

My user-centered discovery process identified distinct needs for agents and admins. For agents, I designed a clean, guided interface that drastically reduced processing time and cognitive load. For administrators, I created a powerful module to dynamically modify checks and balances, allowing them to fine-tune workflows on the fly without technical dependency. This dual approach ensured the solution was not only efficient but also inherently scalable and responsive to evolving business needs.

The high-fidelity Figma prototype became a compelling business case, demonstrating a product that could accelerate frontline work *and* reduce operational overhead. By showcasing this strategic value—including the critical admin controls that de-risked long-term adoption—the design directly secured funding from Ingenio for full development. This project exemplifies how deep user understanding can shape a SaaS product vision, prove ROI, and translate UX strategy into a tangible investment decision.
